Company profile
Overview
Rosenthal & Rosenthal is a privately held commercial finance firm in New York. In May 2025 it began doing business as Rosenthal Capital Group. At the same time it moved its headquarters from 1370 Broadway to 300 Park Avenue and launched a new website and brand. Its current site is rosenthalcapitalgroup.com. The old domain, rosenthalinc.com, did not resolve in November 2026. Much of the trade press still uses the old name.
The firm's timeline says Imre J. Rosenthal, a certified public accountant, opened the business at 1451 Broadway with a line of credit from his brother. The 2025 rebrand announcement dates the founding to 1938. The third and fourth generations of the family now run the company, with Peter Rosenthal and Ken Kleiner as co-presidents.
The homepage says the firm has 550 clients and 5 offices:
- New York
- Chicago
- Atlanta
- High Point, North Carolina
- Los Angeles
The head office phone number is (212) 356-1400.
Rosenthal has grown through acquisitions. Its timeline lists the purchase of BB&T Bank's factoring portfolio. Its news page reports the purchase of the factoring division of Lyon Credit Services, which expanded its reach in the furniture industry, and of Accord's US equipment leasing division. The news page also says the Export-Import Bank of the United States appointed Rosenthal a delegated authority lender.
The homepage says the firm has seen "every kind of opportunity and disruption imaginable." It describes working alongside banks, private equity sponsors, lawyers and turnaround advisers.
Services
The services page lists five product lines, with loans up to $40 million:
- Asset-based lending
- Direct-to-consumer brand financing
- Factoring: non-recourse, recourse and international
- Purchase order financing
- Equipment financing
The services page describes factoring as a service for businesses selling on terms that need credit protection, collections and receivables management, advances against receivables and inventory, or a combination.
Under non-recourse factoring, Rosenthal approves the client's customers' credit. It takes the loss if an approved customer cannot pay for credit reasons. In an interview with the Secured Finance Network, its director of recourse factoring said the firm's non-recourse business has historically centered on apparel, home goods and furniture. In the same interview, its chief lending officer described the recourse division's stated aim as simple agreements and straightforward cost structures.
Recent deals show how facilities are structured:
- April 2025. Three non-recourse factoring deals in apparel, outerwear and accessories, totaling $280 million in annual sales volume. The largest was for a New York outerwear company with more than $250 million in annual sales. That deal used a non-notification collection factoring agreement alongside the client's existing bank lender. The client mainly wanted to manage credit risk and kept its bank for funding. The smallest was for a New Jersey women's apparel company with $10 million in sales. A New Jersey accessories deal advanced against both receivables and inventory.
- February 2024. Two recourse factoring transactions totaling $5 million, plus a $2 million purchase order facility, for a New Jersey logistics company and a Canadian equipment distributor.
Industries served
Apparel, home goods, furniture, consumer products, food and beauty brands appear repeatedly in Rosenthal's deal announcements. The chief lending officer said recourse factoring fits service businesses such as staffing, light manufacturing and assembly. The same answer named start-ups, turnarounds and companies that have grown quickly but are not yet profitable. Recent deals also include a logistics company and an equipment distributor.

Pricing is negotiated for each facility. The 2025 rebrand announcement describes the firm's clients as small to middle-market companies. The site does not advertise same-day funding or a self-service app. Deal announcements describe moving quickly when a client's existing lender cannot scale, but they do not give funding times.
