What RTS publishes, and what it does not
| Term | What RTS states |
|---|---|
| Advance rate | More than 90 percent of the total within 24 hours |
| Funding speed | Cash in 24 hours or less; same-day pay after uploading in the app |
| Factoring rate | Contact for pricing; described as "a competitive factoring rate" |
| Contract length | Contact for details |
| Minimum volume | Contact for pricing |
| Recourse structure | Contact for details on its factoring page |
| Other services | Fuel card, load board, equipment financing, advances |
Source: RTS Financial — Factoring services, checked November 2026. The same page offers a rate calculator that asks for monthly volume and truck count, and it notes that the rate shown is an estimate, not a guaranteed offer.
"More than 90 percent" covers a lot of ground. As an example, a 90% advance and a 97% advance on the same invoices leave you with noticeably different cash in the same week, so get the exact percentage and the reserve release timing in writing.

Riviera Finance
Riviera does not publish a rate, but its freight factoring page lists a 95% advance rate, funding within 24 hours of verification and no monthly minimums (Riviera Finance — Freight factoring). Its home page describes its factoring as non-recourse and says it has more than 25 offices in the US and Canada (Riviera Finance), which matters more than carriers expect when a broker disputes an invoice. You will still need a written quote for the rate.
Porter Freight Funding
Porter advertises an introductory rate of 1.5% for the first 60 days (Porter Freight Funding — Intro factoring rate). Porter's site blocked our automated checks, so we could not confirm the advance percentage, contract length or recourse terms attached to that offer. Introductory rates usually come with a committed term, so ask what the rate becomes after the intro period and how long the agreement runs.
Thunder Funding
Thunder does not publish a rate on its home page or its rates and fees page (Thunder Funding — Rates and fees). It does say it will never ask you to sign a long-term commitment, offers a 90-day trial, promises same-day funding and takes fuel advance requests through its app (Thunder Funding). Get the rate in writing, but you know the exit terms up front.
Bobtail
Bobtail's FAQ says its fee is usually 1.5% to 3.5% per invoice, varies with volume and credit risk, and comes with no reserve requirement (Bobtail factoring FAQ). Not holding a reserve is materially better for cash flow than a 90% advance if the rate holds. Two caveats: the same FAQ says customers move into a long-term contract after a 90-day trial, and Bobtail's own article says it provides recourse factoring (Bobtail — Recourse vs. non-recourse). Our Bobtail alternatives guide covers both.
The four questions to close before you move
- What is the rate at my volume? Not a range, a number, in writing.
- What is the advance percentage, and when does the reserve release?
- Recourse or non-recourse, and what counts as a covered credit event? Non-recourse usually covers only a broker's insolvency, not disputes or short pays. See our recourse vs. non-recourse guide.
- How long is the contract and what does it cost to leave? Check the initial term, auto-renewal, notice period and any termination fee. Our guide to reading a factoring contract shows where these clauses usually sit.
Then compare the full cost, not the headline rate. Our guides on freight factoring costs and hidden fees list the charges to look for, and the factoring calculator lets you run your own invoices.
How to switch
The incoming factor buys out your open invoices with RTS, RTS releases its lien by filing a termination statement under UCC 9-513, and your brokers get new payment instructions. You will also have to give whatever written notice your current agreement requires. Full mechanics are in how to switch factoring companies.
Frequently asked questions
What are RTS Financial's rates?
RTS does not publish a factoring rate. Its site offers a rate calculator, but it says the result is an estimate only and not a guaranteed offer. You need a written quote specific to your volume and broker mix.
What is the best alternative to RTS Financial?
It depends on what you want to change. If you want published terms before you talk to anyone, Thunder Funding publishes its no-long-term-commitment policy and Bobtail publishes a rate range, so you know more going in.
Does RTS offer non-recourse factoring?
Its freight factoring page does not say. Ask directly, and read the covered-credit-event clause before assuming you are protected.
Can I leave RTS mid-contract?
That depends on terms RTS does not publish. Find your notice period, any termination fee and any buyout obligation in your agreement before you approach another factor.
